Answer

A saturated solution is one in which the maximum number of moles of a solute at a particular temperature have been dissolved. This means that even though you add more solute it will not dissolve but will remain cluttered at the bottom of the container. However, supersaturated solutions do exist and these are the ones that have more than the maximum amount of solute dissolved in them, this only occurs under certain conditions when the temperature of the solvent is high and when the solute is extremely soluble in the given solvent.
